Suspending Phone Service

Suspension of telephone lines can provide you with a significant monthly saving on phone lines while faculty and other department staff are absent for the summer. Telecom can provide you with two types of suspended lines.

• Full suspension - phone number is reserved
  Telecom will deactivate the telephone line for the time period you specify.   The monthly recurring fee for this service is $4.60 per line.
• Suspension with Voice Mail
  We can suspend the dial tone for a particular extension but leave voice mail active during the duration of the suspension. The monthly recurring fee for this service is $5.97 per line.

Fees

There is a one time charge of $20 to suspend phone lines. To avoid the additional service charge to re-activate the line, please provide a suspension end date.

How to Order

All requests need to come from your Telecom Account Manager with the following information:

• extension(s) and user name(s) to be suspended
• beginning and ending date of suspension
• your department's Telecom encumbrance
