Conference Calls

Up to 6 Participants (no charge, self-service)

All faculty and staff with digital phones or VoIP phones are capable of a conference call with your telephone and five others. You will need to stay online for the off-campus parties to stay connected.

For Digital Phones


To add another party* to an existing call:
  1. Press 'Conf' button (under the red 'Hold' button).
  2. Dial the number of the new party and wait for an answer.
  3. To add the new person, press 'Conf' button.
  4. Repeat Steps 2 through 3 for additional conference connections.

        * domestic long distance rate of 7 cents per minute or international rates apply.
To add an incoming call to an existing call:
  1. Press the 'Conf' button (under the red Hold-button) to answer the incoming call.
  2. To add the new person, press 'Conf' button.
  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for additional conference connections.
For VOIP Phones


To add another party* to an existing call:
  1. Press 'Conf'.
  2. Dial the number of the new party and wait for an answer.
  3. To add the new person, press 'Join'.
  4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for additional conference connections.

To add an incoming call to an existing call:
  1. When incoming call rings, press 'Ans Hold'.
  2. Press 'Conf'.
  3. Select button from the original call.
  4. Press 'Join'.

Other alternatives to completing a conference call that will accommodate additional participants:

Start Meeting service has no monthly fee, with a 3.9 cents per minute, per caller rate. It is a toll free number, and supports up to 1,000 participants per call.

Free Conference Calling service provides a long distance number to dial into. Provides support for up to 1,000 callers, and 6 hours maximum call length.
